Hi Everyone
We hear more and more about the merits of the Daylight Slimline Lamp all the time. It is spanning all hobbies it seems from model making, fly fishing, tattoos, stamp collecting, papercrafting, scrapbooking and now needlework.
The Lowery Workstand, which is in our opinion, THE BEST in needlework stands actually fits theDaylight Slimline Lamp in the Lowery Light Bracket which fits onto the Lowery Workstand. This bracket has three holes in it – one to fit onto the Lowery Workstand, another for a lamp and another for an extra Lowery accessory. The Daylight Slimline Lamp screws into the bracket making it firm and secure while you work. The light gives a good length of light which lights up the whole of your work rather than just the bit you are working on. It is also flexible at two points so you can adjust as you please.

Daylight Bites:
The Team at Daylight Lamps frequently receive questions for advice on which lamp is suitable. There is no right answer to this as the right Daylight Lamp is individual to each persons needs or budget. You may need one for personal needs such as stitching, papercrafting, jewellery making, bead work, reading, model making and so on. Or you may need Daylight Lamps in your work place – laboratory, office, beauty salon, tattoo artists, inspection work and so on.
We are here to advise you when you need us so that you make the correct choice. We are constantly helping businesses with their lighting needs. We recently supplied the team who inspect the fabrics for a top well known British designer – their choice was a huge order of Daylight Freedom lamps as they give great light and are portable so you can transport your light where you need it.

Hi Everyone
Well, just got back from yet another business trip. Lighting isn’t always great in hotels as they seldom get individual lighting right – just how we like it and where we like it!
Luckily I take my Portable Daylight Lamp with me where ever I go. It folds down when not in use and I keep it protected in it’s special Daylight Lamp carry bag. It light in weight and doesn’t take up too much space. So I was able to relax read and stitch in my room in perfect natural light without straining. Also in the morning I used it to give me perfect light when applying my make-up rather than guessing with the dull light in the room.

Despite the cold weather outside, we’re busy and back in action at Daylight Lamps. It’s already buzzing with activity as we get into 2009. Those first few days back to work can be difficult though. I find that the best way to get rid of that sluggish ‘back to work’ feeling is to light up my space with the natural light I get from my Daylight lamps which energise me into my routine, especially first thing in the morning! Even if the weather’s cold and grey outside, you can achieve a super, natural light in your home or workspace – keeping the blues away!
I have been designing recently which is very exciting. I am creating a new tapestry collection – my first! My Daylight lamp proved it’s worth throughtout my designing process so far in determining the colours I am using especially. I don’t know what I would have donw ithout my Daylight lamp – my hours of work would definitely have been shortened due to the lack of daylight outside – and therefore probably my inspiration and motivation too. It’s been very exciting but hard work packed with loads of worry to get things right but all will be revealed soon I hope! I find that a good walk with my dogs clears the mind and cleanses it for a new day. Then I have my Daylight lamp to thank for helping me by allowing me to work as my inspiraition takes me whenever I want – day or night. I don’t just see a bunch of green hanks of wool I see all the very different shades with my Daylight lamp allowing me to choose the best shades for my designs. And what’s more, the natural light reduces my eyestrain from staring at small details and very similar shades of the same colour. I able to work for longer periods of time with the regular use of Daylight products.

The symptoms of SAD are similar to those of ‘winter blues’ (e.g. tiredness, lack of energy, overeating, low moods and social withdrawal) but SAD is much more severe, often seriously affecting people’s performance at work, their home life and relationships. The cause of SAD is unclear but short, dark days are the trigger. They prolong the production of melatonin, normally only released at night to help us sleep. Another factor is thought to be low serotonin levels (a feature of depression) which improve significantly in the summer and with light therapy. Indeed, many SAD sufferers have found that bright lights can make a real difference to their life.
We believe that Daylight Lamps give the most natural light avilable in your home of workplace. We are always here to help you choose the right Daylight Lamp for your needs, whether you need an artist’s lamp, reading lamp, low vision lamp, needlework lamp, nails and beauty lamp, magnifying lamps home and office lamps and even lamps for industry and inspection – call us if you need help.
