We are still ‘recovering’ from the mass interest, not to mention sales, from the BDTA Dental Show last month. We have supplied so many dentists around the country with specialist dentistry daylight lamps for their decontamination rooms with great success.

We are also now dealing with the mad Christmas rush. So many husbands seem to be buying their wives/partners the perfect lamp for Christmas – which is a must if they are a mad stitcher like me! With the shorter days it is so hard, nearly impossible, to stitch comfortably without straining your eyes without one of these fab lamps – I can identify 10 shades of cream in the current piece I am stitching – A Young Hare by Albrecht Durer – coming along great too! I personally use the Daylight Flexi Vision Floor Lamp which is in my lounge where I stitch most (we have this lamp on secial offer at the moment). I do use a Daylight White PL Desk Lamp (also available in black) in my office too. Since using Daylight it’s hard to go back to using a ‘normal’ light – it’s just not the same!

Poor Dean set up by himself late on Wednesday evening after driving from Nottingham – he had everything but his electric drill! He had to do everything by hand – oh dear! He has taken many pictures of our stand so hopefully I will be able to share some of these with you soon. We have a huge 40″ screen set up with power point pictures of daylight lamps and models of the lamps recommended for everyone to view and test.

People there at the show, from customers to other stands are very impressed with the lamps and have found many uses for them other than for decontamination rooms, e.g. inspecting teeth colouration for the precise colour match. Daylight lamps give such a clear white light it makes it possible to do this – infact anything you need to inspect in pure detail.

I hope your weekend has been well, despite this horrid rain. The rain and change of weather has meant a large increase in sales of lamps for Daylight Lamps though. We are all beginning to need more lighting now that summer is finally over. So it’s been hectic in our packing department – which is good though!

This week has also been manic while we are preparing for the BDTA Dental Show at Excel on the 14-16th of this month. We have been ordering more stock, having banners printed, getting the video demonstrations ready, organising staff, arranging transport and accommodation, tickets, tables, and evry tiny detail for our stand.

We are now supplying more and more businesses with Daylight lamps, especially dentists. We have been told time and time again that many dentists are not sure where to buy the lamps the now need so hopefully at the show they can come and meet us at the Daylight Lamps stand and try and buy the Daylight lamps we will be recommending to them. The most popular is still the Daylight Illuminating Magnifying Lamp which we fully recommend.

We are also now dealing with the start of the Christmas rush – lamps are going out left, right and centre all over the UK and even some to Europe. For anyone who is a stitcher, paper crafter, model maker or just enjoys a good read – a Daylight Lamp is a great gift.

You can now take Daylight with you where ever you go with a new range of three LED hand held magnifiers – one even hold your medicine bottle so you can read the writing clearer – more on these soon.

Well it’s has been very busy here at Daylight Lamps. We are nearly falling over the lamps at our store room. Lamps are being packed left, right and centre. The place is surrounded in parcel tape and boxes!

So many orders to deal with which is brilliant and keeps us on our toes. More and more businesses are now ordering in bulk from us. We now supply dentists, doctors, various manufacturers and even fashion designers right through to the individual customer who needs perfect light in their home for their hobby or simply because daylight light is just right for their home being easier on the eye whatever you’re doing.

I was interested to watch a programme last night on BBC1 about sleep. Apparently waking up to a daylight type of light tells the brain it is time to get up quicker than waking up to a normal electric light. The Daylight Lamp simulates natural daylight so it helps if yoou are trying to get up early and allows your body to wake up quicker. I will try that with my Daylight Lamp. We have been working late every day due to the busy times we are having. I will get a day off maybe Monday, fingers crossed. With Christmas coming too (sorry but it’s inevitable in this business!) things are going to get even busier.

We are also preparing for a huge show in October for the dental industry. We are supplying more and more dental practices that we thught it would be a good idea to attend so we can meet our customers and they can try out the lamps and learn about them. More details to come but I understand we are going to be near the lecture area and restaurant area – so easy to find!
